¼ cup of butter at room temperature
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour
½ teaspoonfuls of salt
2 teaspoonfuls of baking powder
1 cup of light evaporated milk
1 teaspoonful of vanilla
¼ teaspoonful of almond flavour
1 cup of figs, chopped into small pieces
2 cups of figs, chopped into small pieces
¼ cup of sugar
¼ cup of water
1 spoonful of lemon juice
Preheat oven to 180° C. Beat butter with sugar, add the egg and beat thoroughly.
Add flour and milk by turns. Add vanilla, almonds and figs. Pour the mixture into two buttered baking pans, each with a diameter of 20 cm, and bake for 30 minutes. Let it chill while preparing the filling.
Put all ingredients into a saucepan and put it on fire so that it smoulders. Lower temperature and let it smoulder for 20 minutes.
Spread butter between the cake layers and on top of the cake.
